The Journey Behind the Cup

My curiosity started early—one small step outside my Philadelphia neighborhood sparked a lifelong fascination with the world beyond what I knew.

That spark carried me across the United States and into cultures far from home. From the highlands of Uganda to the markets of Jordan, from cafés in Europe to the modern pulse of Dubai, each place introduced me to people whose warmth, humor, resilience, and traditions shaped how I see the world. Those friendships and experiences became the soul of Montclair Roasting Company.

Every roast represents a place I’ve been and the people who left their imprint on me—Dutch, Danish, French, Italian, British, Egyptian, Ugandan, Jordanian, Iraqi, Indian, and American.
Each profile was refined through real conversations, shared cups, and local rituals—crafted to honor the true character of the origin and the communities behind it.

Montclair Roasting began with a simple idea: coffee should be personal, intentional, and roasted fresh—never mass-produced or anonymous. Small-batch roasting lets me honor the growers behind each bean and share their craft with the same care and authenticity they bring to their work.

In a world that moves fast, a great cup of coffee invites us to slow down and reconnect—with ourselves, with others, and with the stories that shaped the roast in our hands.

This is the experience behind every roast I create.
Fresh. Thoughtful. Rooted in people and place.
